About the Liberty Prairie Area
Located about 45 miles north of Chicago and 55 miles south of Milwaukee, the area commonly called Bull Creek consists of four subdivisions: Country Club Estates, Bull Creek, Bull Creek West, and Wood Hollow. Located just to the north of Libertyville, IL, the subdivisions are in unincorporated Lake County.
The area derives its name from the small creeks running throughout the subdivisions. While technically the North Branch of Bull Creek, most people call this area Bull Creek. The creek provides a nice distinctive character to the area. Surrounding the area are open spaces which are either owned by Commonwealth Edison or Libertyville Township, or an Illinois Prairie Reserve. All the lots are one acre or more, also adding to the rural feel.
The Liberty Prairie Area Homeowners Association (LPAHA) website is for the residents to find information about upcoming events, about the surrounding prairie and creek, some history, and the neighborhood. It is also a place for non-residents to learn about the area.
